# DevHub says my AI client is not found, but it works in the terminal

> A packaged application does not read the PATH of your shell; point DevHub at the program.

**Symptom:** A client you installed appears under **Not found** in **Harnesses List**, or a test fails with a message such as "env: node: No such file or directory".

**Cause:** DevHub started from the Dock or Finder does not get the PATH of your shell. It asks your login shell for it once at startup and also looks where installers put a client: nvm, Volta, fnm, Homebrew, `/usr/local/bin`, `~/.local/bin` and `~/.bun/bin`. A client installed somewhere else can still be missed.

**Solution:**

If your version is older than 0.7.2, update DevHub first. Then:

1. Click **Check again** to search once more.
2. If DevHub still does not see the program, click **Point at the program…** and choose its full path. **Check and save** runs it to see that it answers.
3. For an agent to find the path for you, use **Copy prompt**. **Change path…** changes a saved path.

**Applies from:** 0.7.2
