# After installing a new version, DevHub will not let me work offline

> The first start of a new version needs an internet connection; a version installed offline has no permissions until it has been online once.

**Symptom:** You installed a new version of DevHub with no network. DevHub does not let you in, or features are disabled.

**Cause:** DevHub works without a network for at most 72 hours after it last reached Vartari ID, and only for the account that the workspace profile belongs to. A sign-in saved by an earlier version needs one online start first. Since 0.8.1, what you may do also comes from the permissions of your account. DevHub keeps the last ones it received, for at most the same 72 hours, and a version installed while offline has none until it has been online once.

**Solution:** Connect to the internet and start DevHub. After that it can work offline again, within the 72 hours. If you are asked, sign in again.

**Applies from:** 0.8.0

Setting the computer clock back does not extend the offline time.
