DevHub · Getting started
Workspace profile
Everything DevHub keeps on this computer for you (folders, vaults, agents, library, plans, settings) is a workspace profile. Each Vartari ID account works in its own profile. Data is never merged between profiles.
The first sign-in
Section titled “The first sign-in”If your account has no workspace profile on this computer yet, DevHub shows the screen “Choose a workspace profile” after you sign in. It says “Signed in as” and your account name, and offers:
- Use an existing workspace profile. Each profile shows its name, when it was last used and how many repositories it has. On a fresh install the existing profile is already selected, so you only click Continue.
- Create a new workspace profile. An empty setup: no folders, vaults or agents. You give it a name.
Nothing is bound to your account until you click Continue. While you choose, the sign-in is kept in memory only, for at most five minutes. If you wait longer, DevHub says “The choice timed out” and you sign in again. Sign out leaves the screen without choosing.
A profile other than the one DevHub has open opens after a restart. DevHub says so under the list.
If your account already has its profile on this computer, DevHub goes straight in.
A profile bound to another account
Section titled “A profile bound to another account”A profile used by a different account is marked “Bound to another account” and has the label “Take over”. You can take it over, for example after your Vartari ID account was reset. The previous account loses that profile on this computer and its saved sign-in is deleted. You confirm with Touch ID, or, where Touch ID is not available, by typing the profile name. Typing only checks that you mean it; it is not a system password.
Manage profiles later
Section titled “Manage profiles later”Settings > Account and plan lists the workspace profiles on this computer with Rename, Duplicate and Remove entry. The profile in use cannot be removed.
